Basics

Name: Zola Petunia Woodman
Name Meanings: Zola is of French and South African origin, meaning "piece of earth" and "quiet, tranquil", respectively. Petunia is a type of flower, and Woodman is of Old English origin, and roughly translates to "friend of the wood".
Nicknames: Zo, Flower Girl, Hippie
Ethnicity: African-American. No wait, let's take a closer look. Her family originates to Kenya. Her great-great grandfather, Amani Adoyo and his wife and son came to America in the 1920's seeking for a better life in America, and chose to settle in Kansas. They had trouble with the new Immigration Act, though it didn't affect them greatly as it had passed 4 years after they arrived. Almost ten years after moving to America, the Great Dust Bowl came through, and barely survived, yet Amani's wife passed away. His granddaughter married a Mississippian man named Thomas Woodman, who's grandmother was a former slave, and they had a son that fell for Demeter. And from them came Zola. Her family often, and still does, face discrimination.

Other: She has dark, fairly visible freckles all upon her face, neck, back, and forearms.

Personality

Character Traits: Zola is a cheerful spirit, a hard worker, and as humble as a Hufflepuff. She loves the outdoors and anything that grows, and her friends often call her a hippie, probably because she also loves peace and tie-dye. Calm and reserved toward people she is unfamiliar with, she is outgoing and bubbly toward those she is familiar with. She is passionate on whatever she loves to talk about. While most of the time she is energetic and happy, she can sometimes be an emotional rag and cry about the little things. She can be stubborn when she wants to get her work done, and sometimes foolish, childish, or immature. Her feelings can be hurt easily and will sometimes avoid people or tend to her garden to retain her happy feelings back.
Fatal Flaw: Empathy. Tries to see the good in everyone, even when they try to kill her.
Fears: Similar to Odessa, Zola also has a fear of open sea. Her father once took her on vacation to a beach on the Californian coast-line. They used one of the used fishing boats, and a few seconds in the sea she immediately became sea sick. After trying to reel in a baby shark (about 2 feet in size), the boat began to sink after a few plugged holes popped. Since then, Zola has had many nightmares of the sea and oceans, and often avoid children of Poseidon.
Hobbies:  Zola has a skill for cooking, and unlike some people, she loves to clean, as it keeps her mind off of things. She also greatly enjoys gardening and strolling through the woods.
Hates Doing: Homework, math, spending time with disgusting people.
Favorite Colors: Green, Brown, Gold, Purple, Orange
Least Favorite Color: Grey, Beige
Favorite Foods: Vegetarian, so she eats multiple veggies and fruits and other non-meats. She also really, really likes cookies.
Least Favorite Food: Meat in general. When she was little, her father took her to his friend's butcher shop and it practically scarred her for life.
Favorite Drink: Water
Least Favorite Drink: Soda
Favorite Scent: The flowers she grows.
Least Favorite Scent: The smell of the beach
Favorite Time of Year: Spring. It's when new life, well, springs from the earth.
Least Favorite Time of Year: Winter.
Favorite Time of Day: Morning. Fresh start on the day!
Least Favorite Time of Day: Night. She can't saty up after 10 pm.
Favorite Weather: When it's bright and humid outside.
Least Favorite Weather: Snowstorms.
Favorite Animal: Badgers. (Ironically, since she's a Potterhead, she would be a Hufflepuff)
Least Favorite Animal: Monkeys. She hates their mocking nature.
Favorite songs/music genre: Zola loves to listen to Indies music.
Best Subject (School): Science
Best Subject (Camp): Pegasus-Riding
Worst Subject (School): Math
Worst Subject (Camp): Fighting in the Arena

Style: One-hand combat
Weapons: A Celestial Bronze Dagger (mist form: a trowel)

Background:

Zola grew up on a farm in Topeka, Kansas. Her father Blake Woodman was renowned for his good-growing crops, which attracted Demeter one wintry day while she was missing her daughter, Persephone. After spending time together, with them endlessly talking about farms and plants and cereal, Demeter found out that she was Prego, and disappeared into the endless rows of corn and wheat. Almost a year later, Blake found a baby on his doorstep, wrapped in golden cloth. From the note he found, he discovered that the baby was his daughter, and the daughter of the woman that he had been fond of until she left him. (Side note: Demeter appeared to him as a mortal woman named Evelyn)
As Zola grew up, her father loved her dearly, and taught her the ways of farming and cooking. Since they lived a little far from city limits, she was home-schooled. Zola was a hard worker, even when she was young, and just had a way with the earth and plants. It was like the plants relished to her touch and grew into better crops than what Blake could grow.
Then one year, when Zola was 11, a harsh winter hit them hard, and their great crops were destroyed and by spring the dirt had grown unfit to grow much more wheat. Blake then thought it was time to move on, much to Zola's dismay. He got a job opening in New York, and they moved to Orange, New York for a new life in the city. Several months later, Blake found another love, a woman named Samantha Bullet, who owned a restaurant near them. Zola hated her step-mom at first, as she took time away from her father, but after some time she began to like her, as she was kind but strict, and a great cook. After several years, Zola gained a couple siblings, of which were young twins Marc and Liz.
When Zola had first moved to New York, the transition from country to city was hard for her, along with going to an actual school. Monsters were rare from attacking her during her childhood, and it was by the age of 12 in New York when a satyr found her. After an incident with a basilisk, it was time to take Zola to camp, with some persuasion from her parents, of course.
At camp, Zola at first didn't believe she was the child of a Greek deity. She was raised in a Christian family, but after the basilisk, the satyr, and meeting Dionysus, she gave in. Soon after the next day, she was claimed by Demeter, much to her delight. Her cabinmates easily accepted her, and she didn't feel as lonely as she did on the farm, since she lived fairly distant from other folks. Her siblings told her to find some friends, and after several weeks of being new she became friends with a grumpy son of Athena, Fabian. A year after she arrived, Charlotte Knight came to camp, and they became fast friends. Since Zola still had a loving family, she only went to camp during the summer and winter break, though her two best friends were mostly year-round.
On her fourth year of camp, she went on a quest with her friends to stop an enemy demigod from taking something powerful. (Story in progress)
So, here is Zola's profile! I'm gonna do Fabian's next, though he's a hard character to decipher.
